Print Power 2022 in Sweden was a dynamic competition showcasing the best illustration of the year in print innovation and creativity. It brought together graphic designer students from different universities to push the boundaries of traditional print media.
This year's brief revolved around the theme of ''Freedom of speech'' and limited us to using and just three colors. I chose to incorporate the accurate colors from the United States flag, complemented by a yellow-orange hue as my third color. Additionally, I included white as a fourth color, taking advantage of the fact that it wasn't restricted.
"Unfiltered Trumpery" captures freedom of speech by showing a parrot with President Trump's signature hairstyle. The parrot represents unrestricted expression, reflecting the outspoken nature linked with free speech. This illustration critiques the lack of politeness, highlighting the importance of open dialogue and the right to express oneself freely.
